Calibration Walk

Set up distance zones for accurate detection

~15 minutes 4 steps

The calibration walk helps WispyAlert understand the signal strength at different distances from your device. This improves detection accuracy and reduces false alerts.

1

Open the Calibration Screen

~2 min

From the WispyAlert dashboard, tap the menu icon and select "Calibration" or "Distance Zones".

You'll see a screen showing your current detection zones.
💡 Tip: Make sure your WispyAlert device has completed its initial 24-hour learning period before calibrating.

Start the Calibration Walk

~5 min

Tap "Start Calibration" on your phone. The app will guide you through walking to different distances from your device.

You'll set markers at:
? Close range (10-20 feet)
? Medium range (30-50 feet)
? Far range (75-100 feet)
💡 Tip: Do this calibration during a time when there's minimal interference from neighbors or passing cars.

Mark Each Distance Zone

~5 min

When you reach each distance marker:

1. Stand still for 5 seconds
2. Tap "Mark Location" in the app
3. Wait for confirmation
4. Move to the next distance

The app will record the signal strength at each point.
💡 Tip: Walk in a straight line from the device for best results.

Save Your Calibration

~3 min

Once all zones are marked, tap "Save Calibration". Your WispyAlert will now use these custom distance zones for detection.

You can always recalibrate if you:
? Move the device to a new location
? Change where you park
? Notice detection accuracy issues
💡 Tip: Consider recalibrating seasonally, as environmental factors can affect signal propagation.
